Adorae is a social fashion networking app that allows users to share photos of their outfits along with tagging the brands that they are wearing so that other users can browse and also purchase from the linked website.
What is the product about?
An application made for people and brands with interests in fashion and clothing, where all the latest fashion, trends and products are introduced and sold that is directly linked with the ecommerce store of the affiliated partner.
How can it be used?
The application can be used in many different ways such as a user/influencer can promote the clothing brands by uploading their pictures, the brands can make their own verified pages and upload their products and sell them through the app. It has a very modern and clean UI along with features like following users and brands, posting stories and sending direct messages among various other features.

Our approach to the problem
Handling the huge amount of product data
This app being a fashion social network application is expected to handle a lot of data including the huge collection of products that are available on it. On an average more than 7 lakh products are present on the app and more and more keep adding on a daily basis. So, handling this is one of the biggest challenges faced.
Making a custom in house search engine for the app
For such a huge amount of data present in the app searching for a reliable search engine was a challenge too. Search engine behemoth like Google is able to give correct and accurate results even if the search keywords are wrong or misspelled, our target was the same, to include a search engine in the app that can filter out and display the accurate results and with the help of Apache Solr we were able to do the same
Maintaining the Privacy Policy
Being an app that collects user data, a privacy policy is needed that’s deemed effective towards protecting the data rights of our users and the employees. Our Privacy Policy agreement includes clauses that detail what personal or sensitive data is collected, how it is collected, how we intend to use it and whether or not that information is disclosed to any third parties.

The process followed was AGILE. Agile software development refers to software development methodologies centered around the idea of iterative development.
